Dr. Jesse L. Wood
Reverend Dr. Jesse L. Wood joined Metropolitan on Sunday, May 9, 2004 as Assistant to the Senior Servant.
The Reverend Dr. Wood is a graduate of Central State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, the Ohio State University with a degree in educational administration, and the Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Center, Massachusetts. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Wood was licensed and ordained by his father, the Reverend A. Wilson Wood, Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio. He served as Pastor of the Love Zion Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio from 1986 until his departure in 2004 to join Metropolitan.
In addition to his theological and academic training Dr. Wood piloted the national community centered banking program. This program revolutionized the banking industry, and has enhanced the banking relationship between the African American Church, the African American community and banking institutions. He, along with four Ohio ministers, developed the Unity Partnership, Inc., an economic empowerment resource program. They have constructed a 4.2 million dollar job opportunity center and a 6.2 million dollar health and wellness center. Dr. Wood was instrumental in receiving a grant for HUD 202 housing project for 25 handicapped housing units known as Love Zion manor.
Born in East Gulf, West Virginia, Dr. Wood is the son of Pastor and Mrs. A. Wilson Wood. He is married to the former Joan Elaine Evans who shares his ministry and served as Executive Administrator of the Love Academy and Artistic Director of the J. E. Wood Cultural Arts Institute. They are very proud parents of five adult children, Arnika, Michael, Qwann, Walton and Zula, and grand parents of six.

Tycely Williams
Over the past eight years Tycely has managed organizational operations and fund development activities for various non-profit organizations in Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia and Washington, DC.
From 1996 to 1999, Tycely served as Artistic Director of a local community dance studio in Kernersville, NC. As the Artistic Director she supervised and managed a staff of twelve, administered programming to more than four hundred children, implemented community and public relations campaigns and oversaw fundraising and special events.
From 2000 to 2002, she returned to her hometown of Birmingham, AL to serve as the first Executive Director for Computer Help for Kids, a non-profit organization founded by Fortune 500 Company HealthSouth. As Executive Director, she managed program implementation, fundraising and government relations.
While in Birmingham, Tycely founded Urban Dance Connection, a community-based organization aimed at teaching classical dance to inner city children. As the founder of this organization Tycely structured the Board of Directors, trained and recruited instructors and raised the annual budget through individual donor cultivation, corporate sponsorships and special events. Under Tycely's leadership, more than 300 inner city children were offered free or subsidized instruction.
In 2003, Tycely was named the first Director of Development for DC Prisoners' Legal Services Project, a non-profit organization that monitors conditions of confinement for DC sentenced inmates.
A 1997 Cum Laude graduate of Wake Forest University, Tycely holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with distinguished departmental honors and a Minor in Journalism. Currently, she is enrolled in a Non-Profit Management graduate certification program at Duke University.
Tycely is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and an associate member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
