4TH ANNUAL LAZARUS HINES MEMORIAL CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

We are happy to announce that the 4th Annual Lazarus Hines Memorial Celebrity Golf Tournament will take place on Friday, July 25, 2008 at Oak Creek Golf Course in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This year's event will once again honor one of our founders Deacon Lazarus Hines.

This event will benefit two nonprofit organizations that have provided outstanding service to communities in the Washington DC metropolitan area. They are: Breaking the Chain Foundation and Metropolitan Community Development Corporation. Proceeds from this event will be used to develop and implement programs and services that will "break the chain" of intergenerational incarceration.

The event promises to be a grand affair that will also make a difference in our communities. We have some incredible guests scheduled to participate. Join us on July 25, 2008 at Oak Creek Golf Course and have a great time for a great cause.

Cazzie Russell, head coach of the men’s basketball team at the Savannah College of Art and Design is known for a spectacular career at the University of Michigan (1963-1966.) His success there, coupled with that of the team, led to the construction of the Crisler Area — later referred to as “The House that Cazzie Built.”
