Financial Education and Wealth Building
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
One of MCDC's objectives is to provide opportunities for community residents to improve their economic status, create wealth, and establish savings programs for first time home ownership, small business development, educational and retirement purposes. MCDC provides tools and information to build, manage, and sustain individual and community wealth.
MCDC offers financial literacy courses geared to specific audiences (e.g. prospective first time home owners, youth, adults, etc.) that enable people to realize their dreams by learning financial skills that help them make informed financial decisions for themselves, their families and their communities. Participants develop skills necessary to maintain a family spending plan, use checking and savings accounts, build or repair a credit history, and apply for a loan. Developing solid personal financial skills is the first step in gaining control over their financial future.
TARGETED AUDIENCE
Individuals interested in strengthening their understanding of financial concepts and developing skills that will enable them to better manage their households is our targeted audience.
