Cazzie Russell, head coach of the men’s basketball
team at the Savannah College of Art and Design is known
for a spectacular career at the University of Michigan
(1963-1966.) His success there, coupled with that of the
team, led to the construction of the Crisler Area —
later referred to as “The House that Cazzie Built.”
