Technology Center Proper education is an important avenue to technology access and adoption. Access to technology does not make much sense unless people are properly educated in using the technologies. The mission of the MCDC Technology Center is to develop and offer technology programs that educate, train, and provide opportunities for community residents to become highly motivated, self-directed, life-long learners, and technology literate citizens. Our goal is to help bridge the digital divide by improving information technology literacy and providing access to the technological tools and skills needed in the digital economy. MCDC'S objectives are:
- To introduce community residents to information technology and demonstrate the benefits of information technology.
- Raise awareness and interest of information technology and the benefits among community residents. To change the mindset of families for them to understand the importance of computers and how empowering computer technology can be.
- To educate and provide skills in using technologies; provide computer training programs that provide enrichment opportunities for the jobs and schools of the future; and increase the number of minorities in information technology careers as it related to the workforce pipeline from elementary school to the workforce.
- To engage and challenge young people through avenues of technology to develop good study habits, goals and aspirations.
- To build and enhance self esteem, confidence, educational achievement.
- To influence participation of minority students at an early age in information technology. To change perception of computers and information technologies. Computers are cool.
- To provide job opportunities.
MCDC's Technology Center is operational in our Largo office. Planned programs include:

for a spectacular career at the University of Michigan
(1963-1966.) His success there, coupled with that of the
team, led to the construction of the Crisler Area —
later referred to as “The House that Cazzie Built.”
